Welcome to RECLAIM, a five-month LIVE somatic group coaching experience, created with love & understanding, specifically for grievers.

When my love Brian died, I immediately felt the uncontrollable urge to write and speak about my loss. Storytelling became my go-to grief processing tool.
And this was what helped me survive, especially in the early days.
But as I wrote and spoke and shared, I still felt deeply vulnerable. Like I was always one activating moment away from feeling like I couldn’t move.
I had a sneaking suspicion that my body and nervous system held the key to this deeper layer of integration that I was yearning for.
I remember thinking that I was doing a "good job" processing my grief and now it was time to "move on" to my trauma.Â
And so, I did some research, found a somatic trauma therapist, and began to work with her.
But there was a really big problem. She didn’t understand grief.

I would bring experiences to her that had triggered me or caused a trauma activation, and I could tell by her response, that she just didn't get it.Â
Of course she didn't, because she didn't have lived experience.Â
The real problem was that because I often felt misunderstood, alone, and even judged during our sessions - my body couldn't feel safe with her. I couldn't regulate my nervous system, release my trauma, or feel my grief. I felt stuck. Â
In the end, it didn’t matter that this particular therapist knew somatic work so well, because she didn’t know grief work.
I hear versions of this same story over and over again from my clients. Because traumatic loss just hit differently from other types of trauma. Our deep grief is interwoven with our trauma. And to move through both, we need to work with someone who gets both.Â
This was what inspired me to birth RECLAIM.Â

The body only understands the language of the body.
When I initially began attempting somatic exercises, I immediately noticed how frequently I was attempting to think my way out of activating situations. And it wasn’t working.
You see, I could talk to my body using words until I was blue in the face, and I could even learn about somatic work - but until I actually practiced it, my body wasn't getting the message.
And so, I dove headfirst into embodied, somatic, and nervous system practice.
I spent years exploring this work with coaches who were not grief-specific & I learned a lot from them.Â
Eventually, I developed my own unique approach to grief-specific nervous system & somatic work.
Because it is this embodied exploration & integration that has truly shifted things for me in my grief. It has opened up a new world to me, one in which I now feel my grief as the purest form of love.
This is what has allowed me to RECLAIM my sense of safety and of self.
...And truthfully, to this day, I still often think about how I wish I had found a somatic coach with a grief-specific lens & hopefully lived experience, who could have supported me on this journey, especially earlier on, when I was so much more tender.Â
I'M READYI created RECLAIM for you if any of the following statements ring true:
- You intuitively feel that there are elements of your traumatic loss stored within your body
- You have experienced unexplainable physical ailments since you lost your person (headaches, body pain, heart palpitations, fatigue etc.)
- You live with anxiety, panic, and a heightened stress response since your loss that traditional talk-therapy alone is not reaching
- You are triggered by things that may seem small to someone who hasn’t experienced deep loss
- You have noticed a shift in your cognitive capacity such as changes in memory & attention span

**This group is probably not a good fit for you if:
- You are looking for a quick fix or a space to learn mindset shifts so you can overcome your loss
- You are expecting intensive movement and exercise
- You aren’t open to trying some powerful exercises that might sound a little funnyÂ
When you join RECLAIM, you will have the opportunity to connect LIVE with me & a group of your fellow grievers.
What I have learned over the past five years, is that the experience of navigating a profound & traumatic loss, involves a dance between moving through *both* our trauma & our grief.
Because of this, during our five months together, we will cover:
Somatic Theory
The theory behind somatic work (explained in a way that actually makes sense!) & exactly why it helps decrease tension & stress, and lowers activation after traumatic loss.
Somatic Exercises
Grief-specific somatic exercises & gentle movements designed to signal safety to the body after profound loss.
Regulation & Release
Daily practices that will begin to regulate your nervous system, strengthen your vagus nerve, & release your trauma.
Self-Love
Ways to build self-compassion & self-love through tending to your body & gently widening your window of tolerance.
Grief Work
You will practice engaging with your grief  in a deeper, more loving way, which only becomes possible once you begin to move through the layers held within your body.
Reconnection
...with your grief, your person, and with each other. Connection is the antidote to trauma.Â

Group Coaching
Two live group coaching sessions per month - one that is informational & learning-based and one that is more focussed on implementing what we have learned and moving through embodied practices together, to create real long-lasting change.
Video Library
Immediate access to Mira's somatic video library (with hours of pre-recorded somatic practice videos that you just have to follow along with). This will help you continually practice what you are learning on a regular basis.
Extra Resources
Accompanying handouts & worksheets that will add extra accountability & hands-on learning to the program.

When?Â
Our core sessions will run LIVE from June to October two Thursdays per month from 12:00 – 1:30 PM ET (Toronto & New York time) beginning on Thursday June 6th.
Where?
Live sessions will take place on zoom and may be accessed from anywhere in the world.
What Else?
All live sessions will be recorded if you can’t make it live or want to go over the movement portions for individual practice again.

Your Group Facilitator:
Mira Simone is a registered mental health occupational therapist in Ontario, Canada with a decade of experience supporting others & facilitating powerful group experiences. When Mira’s husband Brian died in 2019, she turned to writing, publishing essays and growing a community of grievers on instagram by sharing her story. Leading groups still felt like a passion, but like so many widows, her old life just didn’t seem to fit anymore, in the way it once did. So, in 2022, Mira founded New Moon Mira and began running group programs within the grief space. Studying and working with somatic and nervous system regulating practices has been life-changing for Mira, after experiencing profound trauma around Brian’s death. Mira ran the first cohort of RECLAIM last spring, and the feedback was incredible. This year, Mira has expanded this program to a full five-months and is so excited to share it with all of you!Â
